Presenting.... Our Virtual Best Selves
It's been a while..... Like so many of us, we have taken some time to regroup. But now Owen Biddle Photo School is ready to start ramping up! While in-person meetings and instruction will still be limited to outdoor, socially distanced activities, we are also bringing back classes, workshops, tutorials and consultations using Zoom. Take a look at what we have to offer for August.
Two-Part Photo Workshops (via Zoom)
Self-Portraits: Showing Your Best Self
This workshop was developed with our present circumstances in mind. We are all thinking more about our online presence whether for websites or for sharing with friends and family. Learn the techniques for getting great pictures of yourself so that you will be presenting your virtual best.
The first session will be to discuss equipment and tips for self-portraits.
The second session will be sharing your work from the intervening week.
Wednesdays 8/12 and 8/19 7:00 - 8:30
Landscape
Get outside and capture the views all around, both intimate scenes and grand vistas.
First session will go over equipment for all kinds of landscape photography, and a discussion of methods.
The second session will be to share your work from the intervening week.
Fridays 8/14 and 8/21 7:00 - 8:30
Photo Field Trips (In-person)
These trips will be in-person, but to insure social distancing, they are appropriate for photographers who already know how to work their cameras. Owen will not be able to stand near you to point out or demonstrate camera controls.
The Wissahickon offers gorgeous views of the creek as it passes through its picturesque ravine. This part of Philadelphia's Fairmont Park System has attracted artists and photographers for over a hundred years. With its steep rock walls and huge variety of trees, set off by the red covered bridge, this trip offers great opportunities to try out both close up photography and landscape photography.
Monday, 3:00 - 5:00 8/17

This stately turn-of-the-century mansion, surrounded by formal gardens, complete with a beautiful old fashioned swimming pool, offers great opportunities for photographing both intimate scenes and grand vistas. The grounds feature unusual plantings as well as some quirky post-modern garden statuary. Our exploration will range from the macro abstractions of flower-portraits to the wide angle accentuated perspective of deep space landscapes. And we won't miss the reflections on the beautiful lotus pond.
Friday, 3:00 - 5:00 8/28
Note: The first person to sign up will get FREE admission to the estate.
