Heads Up: Kitty Kono is coming to Lansdowne to share with us "A Wildlife Photographer's Love Story" Sunday afternoon, October 8.  Those who know Kitty or have seen her incredible images from Valley Forge to Africa to Just North of Antarctica realize we are in for a real treat. Kitty is traveling to the Pantanal in Central Brazil to photograph the jaguars in September - just before our October presentation. She says she may be able to include a few of those images as well. You don't want to miss this - put it on your calendar.  More details to follow.

July  Photo Salon

Sunday 3:00 - 4:30  July 9

These are very friendly, relaxed get-togethers at my apartment in Lansdowne. Photographers of all levels are welcome to share pictures, get photography tips, and discuss camera equipment. You can also get ideas for entering photography contests, submitting to photography magazines and having photo shows. Feedback from the group provides encouragement and inspiration to go out and take more pictures. These informal photography critiques offer an excellent opportunity to start identifying themes in your work and to get ideas for new directions. Group size is limited, so if you can come an RSVP is required by email or call (610) 626-7854. Cost is $10.  These Salons often fill-up, so it's best to confirm your spot early!

Providence Animal Center (SPCA)

With a slant to photojournalism, this animal photography workshop will explore the issues of documenting the realities of our world with the aim of raising the awareness of others about the needs of these homeless pets.  And a portion of our proceeds will be donated to the shelter.

Student-of-the-Month: Lynn Zikoski

Here's what Lynn has to say:

""I became interested in photography while walking with my adopted greyhound, Dora. I started classes to learn more about how to capture the images around me, whether in my own neighborhood or around the world. These images represent a sampling of what has caught my attention as I explore photography. ."

We are excited to present Lynn's pictures with her sensitive take on nature -  both flora and fauna.  Her technical abilities, her natural feel for creating compelling compositions and her curiosity about, and love of, the natural world combine to bring us these beautiful images.
