September Photo Field Trips

Masonic Temple

Friday,  9/20  3:00 - 5:00

Every good story needs a setting, and the Masonic Temple is a setting like no other!  This may be a new discovery for you, but the Masonic Temple is a fascinating building, both from the outside and inside. The fancy and luxury, the golden mosaics, stained glass windows, sweeping stairways and Egyptian pillars are the ingredients for some unique and gorgeous photography.

Colonial Plantation

Saturday  9/21  3:00 - 5:00

Colonial Plantation is a great photo destination. This period farm setting has gardens, farm house, barns, animals, and guides in period clothes demonstrating an earlier, simpler way of life.

PLUS, we have arranged this trip to be there in time for a Civil War Battle Reenactment, which will afford some wonderful photographic opportunities and challenges!

Upcoming Photo Salons

Sunday 3:00 4:30   September 22 and October 20

These are very friendly, relaxed get-togethers at my apartment in Lansdowne. Photographers of all levels are welcome to share pictures, get photography tips, and discuss camera equipment. You can also get ideas for entering photography contests, submitting to photography magazines and having photo shows. Feedback from the group provides encouragement and inspiration to go out and take more pictures. These informal photography critiques offer an excellent opportunity to start identifying themes in your work and to get ideas for new directions. Group size is limited, so if you can come an RSVP is required by email or call (610) 626-7854. Cost is $10.  These Salons often fill-up,

so it's best to get your spot early

Five Part  Special Class

for Advanced Photographers

Film Stills

Learn to exploit and coordinate all the elements of the  photograph in order to create powerful pictures that tell a story.

Imagine you are a film maker and you are in Hollywood, trying to sell your new idea for a film.  You only have five minutes with the producer, the one with the money.  You need a still photograph that says it all in a single image - shows your idea, suggests the story and is so strong, the producer cannot resist!   In this class you will learn to use your skills to set up a shot that does exactly what you want.  You will  be responsible for props, setting, characters, lighting, color decisions, costumes etc etc.  Does it sound like a lot?  This is what professional photographers do!  As for all our advanced classes, dates and times are arranged by polling interested students.  Email or call

(610) 626 -7854 if interested and we'll take it from there.

Charles Eustace shows a huge range of interests in his photography, but this month we are sharing some of his event photography to demonstrate how he is able to capture images that go beyond simply documenting "who was there". Charles' work tells stories.  He has the knack of choosing the perfect instant to show the feelings, the spontaneous interactions, the humor, the sweet moments, that make up the big and little events of our lives.  And as you'll see he takes a special delight in photographing musician doing their work.
