Photographer of the Month: Charles Eustace
Here's what Charles has to say "A few of these photos were taken with a 3.2 megapixel camera and the rest with an iPhone. When film went out of photography, so did I, for years. I started up again when I got a small digital camera. I took photos for fun and when I liked them, I would print them small and frame them.
If someone takes a liking to a photo, despite being unfamiliar with the subject or location, I think that something worthwhile has been achieved. There is no reason that a phone camera cannot do this. I still think of them as sketches sometimes, with the idea that I will bring a more versatile camera back to an area to shoot again, but often, especially with people, this cannot happen. "
Charles brings a quirky sensibility to his work. His ability to see both the humor and, at times, the alienation that surround us is remarkable. His trusty point-and-shoot and phone are perfect for capturing the spontaneity of the moment - sometimes odd, but always intriguing and worth savoring.
